Street-level insights to power Itron Solar’s lead generation across Melbourne and Sydney

Challenge

Itron Solar was looking to expand customer acquisition across Melbourne and Sydney, but faced two major hurdles:

  • They lacked clarity on which suburbs and households were most likely to convert, and

  • Their marketing was spread too thin, leading to low lead-to-sale efficiency.

Despite strong market potential, traditional digital campaigns weren’t reaching the right people — and conversion rates were plateauing.

Solution

Dreamgate delivered a data-powered targeting strategy built on two layers:

  1. Geospatial Intelligence

    • Identified residential clusters with low solar penetration and high Home Ownership and high energy usage

    • Mapped suburbs based on roof type suitability, income, property ownership, and family lifecycle

    • Prioritised areas with limited local solar competition

  2. Persona-Based Targeting

    • Matched over 1.2 million households to our Spectrum Personas

    • Focused efforts on profiles with high likelihood to adopt solar:
      • Environmentally conscious families
      • Budget-conscious homeowners
      • Ethnically diverse households concerned about rising energy bills
